Don't let the quality fool you - this is an amazing video!

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3amVFtQmwc]YouTube - POV Of Motorcycle Colliding With Van[/ame]

After watching it several times.... it was great to see the car was nearly stopped. But the rider? That was 100% avoidable as he had plenty of space to get out but he totally target-fixated on the car and you can see the bike stand up and head directly for the car. It was when he saw the car, he should have focused beyond and pushed down harder on the right grip. Very poor riding skills! He'd do the same MANY times over on the Dragon, the Snake, Rte 28, etc....

Riding like that on a road like that was never going to end well was it?

I fully agree with FZ1inNH, totally avoidable, the rider appears to have ran out of ability mid corner there!

Man that looks like one narrow road, if it were two cars I can barely see how they would have room to get by one another... maybe it's just an optical illusion though. Another possibility here is that the rider just didn't see the vehicle until it was too late... coming around a blind corner with a green vehicle against a green background. I didn't even notice the van until he hit it the first time I watched the video (although the video being low quality doesn't help). It looked like he didn't even try to stop before hitting the van.

Just watched it and fully agree. You always need to leave yourself an out. If you put yourself in a situation like that it can only end bad.
