A friend of mine I have a fun little trash talking thing going with just upped the ante..I have been giving him fits on his Buel Firebolt 1200. he just got a Ducati 1098 I told him I will still feel bad passing him but I have been reading they are pretty stout. I have the Ivans kit on mine with the full Yosh header(pre ecu flash) 16/45 gearing and a R1 shock it runs well. You think I can at least hang with him?? we are pretty even riders for the most part.
 
Well his bike is lighter, but power wise they should be pretty much evenly matched. However, the v-twin makes a lot more torque so he probably has the advantage on the drive out of the corners. Oh and don't try to race him for top speed or he'll own you :D

What Pete said.... you have the top end bike but he's got you more than covered on low end, mid-range and that bike corners like no other... GL and sorry about your loss. ;)
 
LOL dont write me off yet brother..lol I got mad skills..I watched a instructional video and have a R1 shock he is mine..:sinister:
 
A tip for your buddy. Most people will drill holes in the rear sets right before the mounting tabs. Should the bike fall over the tabs on the frame will bend/break and insurance will total it. Drilling the holes in the rear sets allow them to beak first, saving the frame.
 
Well a little follow up, Those things are fast...lol I got nothing for him top end and he beat me at the drags I still hold my own just fine up in the mountains. I have the Ivans pre flash kit so my bike runs good but I need some more HP..lol of course he is 50 lbs lighter than me..

you realize you're not riding a super sport...fz1's are slow ass liter bikes, i love mine, but it doesn't change what it is lol

lol I know but you can always dream right...he used to have a Buel Firebolt12r so I got him on that one..then he stepped up..lol. I am not buying a true liter sport bike...yet... so I will just have to deal with it..for now
