2025 MotoGP Discussion Thread *SPOILERS*

"(February 7, 2025) – Surgery on Jorge Martin’s right hand has been successfully completed. The medical team at the Quirón Dexeus Clinic in Barcelona, led by Dr Xavier Mir, confirmed the positive outcome of the operation.

The Spanish rider, following a heavy high-side on the first day of testing in Sepang, had suffered a closed fracture of the 5th metacarpal head of the right hand and a closed fracture of the third, fourth and fifth metatarsals of the left foot. After spending a night at the Aurelius Hospital in Nilai, Jorge Martín returned to Europe to undergo surgery at Quirón Dexeus Clinic on Friday morning.

The fractures of the left foot didn’t need any surgery, recovery times will be assessed in the coming days."

Sounds positive.

And Bezzecchi had quite a successful test at Buriram in the lead up to the season opener in two weeks, which bodes well for Aprilia and Martin.

They seem to like those energy drinks after a race. Ogura on a 25 machine, hell a half dozen riders on Ducati 25 machines would be entertaining. Seems the race is decided by Ducati management.

Sprint was decent to watch. AI Ogura ... The Good Gulf. Gulf must be happy with their immediate success. Not a fan of the paint scheme. Winner wasn’t un-expected.
Why do you not like the Livery? It is a classic!!!!!!

IMO the Ai Ogura Livery is the best one on the grid right now.

As much of a bummer as it was to see Ducati's taking all the top spots this weekend it was really heartening to see Honda's and Yamaha's in the top 10. Gives me hope we will have some good competition to the Desmo Bikes this year.

I don't know. You would think it would have been closer since everyone had so much data from the recent testing at Buriram. Without the infernal tire pressure rule it might have been ten seconds or more margin of victory.

Definitely good to see improvements by Honda and Yamaha.

I'm a sucker for retro liveries. I like it better on the cars than the bike for some reason. Maybe just sheer acreage.

If the first 2 races are a preview of things to come I am gonna be depressed... Alex sorta put up a fight, but it almost feels like Marc is just toying with his brother.

I am now more interested in how well Zarco can make the Honda go around the track.

I felt really bad for Fabio... he got jacked before the first turn and never recovered really.....

From the way he was sliding around yesterday I don't think he was toying with Alex; he was taking risks. I was hoping a little bit that he would settle for second by taking fewer risks and let Alex have his first win.
Hopefully someone else can run at the front with them, but, unfortunately, it will probably be another Ducati.

Good to see the Hondas and Yamahas looking somewhat more competitive.

Sprint Race COTA:

Thought we were going to have a race at start then it drifted back to a three-peat At least Fabio was making progress. Has anyone seen an explanation of why the Ducati’s engines are so dominant. It’s interesting that the deep pocket competitors can’t keep up. Bagnaia seemed positive about his prospects for today’s GP.

It’s a beautiful track. MotoGP does a better job of presenting COTA “visually” than the MotoAmerica races (not surprising $$$).

Watched the WSB Race 1 in Portimoa. Same players up front as last season. Just wish the announcers would use Toprac’s first name instead of the whole Razgatlioglu or even worse when they use both his names. Gets tedious to listen to since he’s typically in the lead or very close the lead.

Was gonna post earlier that Marc had them covered this weekend and the only way he could lose was if he crashed.

Congrats Pecco!

Jack Miller is looking so good on the Yamaha. Fabio was great on Saturday, too bad he had to ride his backup bike for the GP - that did look to throw him off a bit.
