2024 MotoGP Discussion Thread *SPOILERS*

Austrian GP was a decent race, more of the Ducati Cup. Acosta didn't really pan out this season after a hot start. MM looked very good, he should be dominant next year. Yamaha is not even in the game.
Neither Yamaha nor Honda. Crazy how it has flipped. Too much aero and electronics.

Aragon sprint and GP races have shaken up the standings. Camera angles seemed different than past races, the massive wall didn't seem as prominent. Some spectacular crashes as well.

The traction control issue on both starts was amazing on one side of the track. Hard to believe Ducati had it happen twice.
Happened to several riders. The track was dirty and slick. I guess the electronics need a modicum of traction to work properly.

I did notice that the wall was not seen as much..... threw me for a loop.

I am glad to see Jorge is maturing and "settling" for second place instead of trying to win all the races and crash out. He proved in Spain that he has what it takes to get that number 1 plate.

MM looked pretty dang stoked to get that win - recovering from injury is a tough thing - I can relate to how he felt after nearly dying due to a medical injury back in 2012.

I still don't really like him as a rider and I hate the games Ducati are playing - but I can still be happy for him to get that win.

Not a MM fan either but I respect skill and he has it. There's a better mix of brands successfully competing in WSB although Toprak has been dominant on a BMW.

I don't see how anyone could not be a MM fan.
I'm not a fanboy worshiper of anyone, but to me he epitomizes the spirit of a racer.

For me personally it was watching him toy with Rossi on the track and king make Jorge Lorenzo....... But I guess some people were okay with that.

What a bummer for Jorge Martin this weekend......

Stupid decision on his part.

it is one of the bad things about flag to flag racing. I can see why he and 5 or 6 other riders did it. There was some heavy rain in spots and the pace dropped way off, Pecco was slowing so much the entire field packed up on him.

If the rain had continued - even if just for a few laps - it would of been failed as a brilliant move to come in first.

It is really a gamble when conditions are like that. I feel bad for all the riders who went in.

But it can make for some really exciting racing - remember when BB stayed out and everyone else swapped bikes and he just barely took the win..... that was amazing.

Even the slowed pace with the rain was faster than Martin's one flying lap on rains. He should have mirrored the others and waited one more lap before deciding; it just wasn't wet enough to justify changing bikes. One of the announcers (Hodgson, I think) couldn't believe that he pitted.
Anyway, the plot thickens as to which Ducati rider takes the big prize.

interesting point of view.

The one thing he got wrong is the incident between Marquez and Rossi was not about Marquez rattling Rossi for the win(The comparison was made of Rossi Rattling other riders to get wins) - it was about holding Rossi back to ensure Lorenzo got more championship points.

At that point in the Season Marquez was no longer in contention for the championship and should not have been interfering with those who were.

Marquez interfering with a championship and playing kingmaker will always be a big enough black stain on his career to dismiss everything else for me personally.

You take that moment from History and Rossi has a honest chance at winning his 10th Title.

Jorge looked good today and Sat as well. I was worried Bastianini was going to intimidate Martin enough to make him crash on the last lap. Certainly a legal pass to get by Martin.

Bagnia has his work cut out for him now.
