2012 Mod List thread

Parts arriving...

Got these last night. ;) I was surprised that there was no spacer tube to cut, just a bunch of washers... so I talked to Race Tech and he says I lay the replacement spring next to the original spring. Whatever the difference between the two is, I either cut from the stock spacer (too long), or make up the difference by stacking shims (too short). So, I could be using as few as one shim (washers) per fork...or maybe as many as six where they gave me twelve in the one package.

The rest is on the way...

Turbo conversion?

Gut the cat
55-profile rear tire
Maybe new double bubble screen

The work I have to do on the bike...

Fit the Akrapovic and Evotech hanger
Remove the exup system/or cables if I dont get an eliminator
Fit the Penske rear shock
Do the AIS removal
Fit the K&N filter
Do the air box mod
Clean up the bottom half of the stock headers
Reflash or PCV
Dyno run it
GiPro install
seat upgrade
Volt meter install
Re-adjust suspension for the Penske install
Fuel line mod if required
Maybe LEDs for indicator lights

May have a go at building an exup eliminator circuit board...

These arrived yesterday. :yes:

Custom front and rear brake lines for both the bikes. She got the Dark Purple with gold banjos and I got the Denim Blue translucent with blue banjos.

  • DONE Install Evotech Fender Eliminator kit
  • Rebuild GPR Steering Stabilizer (Gasket and fluid replacement)
  • DONE Replace fork SPRINGS & oil with 5 weight and 7.5 weight mix
  • DONE Install new Penske8983 rear shock
  • Powder coat saddle bag supports
  • Repair and reinstall the CD pods
  • Purchase and install Power Commander V


Michele's FZ1:

  • DONE Install new colored HEL front and rear brake lines
  • DONE Install Evotech Fender Eliminator kit
  • DONE Install new Top Saddlery seats
  • Fab and finish saddle bag supports

  • Rebuild GPR Steering Stabilizer (Gasket and fluid replacement)
  • Powder coat saddle bag supports
  • Repair and reinstall the CD pods
  • DONE Purchase and install Power Commander V
  • DONE Purchase spare header and gut the cat
  • DONE Test maps and settle on the best choice
  • DONE Fix issue with SpeedoDRD
  • DONE Replace Penske reservoir clamps with new ones covered in heat-shrink tubing.


Michele's FZ1:

  • Fab and finish saddle bag supports
