2001 Yamaha FZ1 transmission noise

Sounds like it has a kinda knocking noise right where the front sprocket is. I just bought the bike so I dont know if its normal or not. Any ideas?

chain too tight/loose?

Time to inspect both sprockets and chain, being that the bike was just bought. May be a number of things, including a chain that's out of adjustment.

My bike makes the same noise and it lost 4th gear and slips outta second
