i should kept some sort of notes regarding the exact build haha, ill pull the bulb and replaced that next. I talked to the retrofit source guys and they said to try plug the relay in while the bike is already running to investigate the wiring.... im gonna give that a shot, i wish the days were...
Hey guys,
A while back i had a retrofit done by Rabbitman109 on the forums - i tried private messaging him but i dont know if hes off the forum or what but the message wouldnt go through.
Anyway...
Ive been having an issue with my HID retrofit.
I know he used a kit from the retrofit...
im running a very short exhaust.... basically it attaches right to the midpipe and the whole swingarm is exposed....
its an M4 exhaust - i dont think they actually make one specifically for the FZ1 - but the pipe they sell for the k7 gsxr-1000 fits (you will def want to verify this as my memory...
thanks for the input, my mechanic made a comment about it being better to run a bike rich than lean as it helps the engine run cooler and thus less wear... but i feel as if mine might be running TOO rich.... how much will the a/f ration change as the weather gets hotter? i assume with colder air...
Finally took my bike out for a ride with my dad after getting overhauled all winter.... rode around 120 ish miles today
Power wise - all i can say is that doing Ivan's FCU, 16t sprocket and exhaust all at once really changed the character of the bike - its an absolute monster from 4k onwards...
hey man looks pretty similar conditions to my off recently - glad to hear you have no injuries and could be able to fix the bike back up again... i hope ur not aching too badly!
haha no worries guys... i cant snuck my post into previous discussion so i understand the confusion....
of course i say the bike is done but im sure it wont be long until i think of something else to do haha
Lonney - so its actually brutally cold up here in rochester ny these days so im trying...

I actually just dropped my front sprocket to 16t and kept the stock rear sprocket -- gonna be picking up the bike next week after a bunch of mods - will def do a post reporting my impressions!
im still a bit confused as to why going -1 in the front would lengthen the wheelbase and going with a larger rear sprocket would shorten the wheelbase.... isnt wheelbase the difference between the centers of the front and rear wheels, ie measured axle to axle? and if so, if say the front...
I cant wait to ride mine for the first time after the flash.... im sure itll be a night and day difference with the power restrictions removed - but i also dropped a tooth on the front sprocket and have a slip on now so everything should be even more mindblowing! good luck with yours! be sure to...
the hardest part for me was getting the wiring harness all squared away.... my swap was also a bit diff coz i have a fx35 projector in the naked headlight so it took a little longer to figure out mounting the headlight securely....
that said, when i initially did the install it took me...
started it for the first time with the new exhaust and ivans flash
iphone camera isnt focusing for some reason but ill get better video when i actually pick up the bike.... enjoy!
