    Handlebar Mod-Your Opinions Wanted

Kept the original bars and installedsv650 risers to lower bars by 1". I like it as it is mor sporty position and added vario foorpegs to raise and move back the pegs. Lower risers do not intrude with fairing or tank so all is good.

Seat Poll...how many still on stock seat?

sargent seat Had the stock seat for about 5000km and my ass hurt after one tank of gas (250km). Changed for Sargent: better looking, more comfortable but still not ideal. Wonder if Corbin or Top saddlery would be better.

Seat Poll...how many still on stock seat?

Sargent for me. I love it, doesn't add height and much better than stock, ca now ride for several hours without pain whereas my ass was begging for mercy after an hour on the stock seat.

    Yamaha gel seat

I got the Sargent and find it better than stock but not perfect, although it's not broken in yet with only 400miles on it. I get a sore ass after about 200miles but less so than with the stocker which gave me a sore a.. after 100 miles or so. The Sargent is about an inch higher than stock but...

Lower fairing - What do you think.

lowers and windshields (GIVI, PUIG,Copperdawg) The lowers on Gen II are really nice but so expensive,it's crazy. I went for the factory lower cowl which to me, looks the best among lower cowls (PUIG isn' bad either). Can't wait to get my OEM though. For the shield, I tried the tall GIVI...

    PUIG racing windshield

Found the right balance with the PUIG racing shield. No turbulence, slighly higher and better protection from the wind than OEM. Easy install, perfect fit and looks awesome in dark smoke. Better than GIVI touring which creates more turbulence for a 5'7" rider like me. Oh ya, also installed lower...

    corbin seat??

seat Hi Ryan, There are many threads on the subject. Seems that the Sargent is the one preferred by most over Corbin and Gel seat from Yamaha. There is also a guy who can refit your original seat. You can find his site at greatdaytoride.com I'm still thinking about all options myself...

    Handlebars

Thanks for your suggestions guys. I read some threads on FZ1OA and apparently the risers from a Suzuki SV650 2003-2006 fit on the FZ! GEn II without problems. It would lower the bars by exactly an inch but doesn't move the handlebars forward. Also doesn't cause problems with windshield or tank...

Aerodynamics and Reality - MD Readers Respond, Part 1

Reality check upright Excellent article with interesting opinions. I guess it says it all why I chose an FZ1. If only it could have a slighly better screen and a comfortable seat. I am looking into a Corbin seat and a Puig touring shield. Anyone tried them???

Why Did You Buy your FZ1 ?

I owned a couple of bikes before, last one was a Triumph Sprint ST 955cc 2001, nice motor (3 cyl), good position, but frame not rigid enough and therefore a fast curve over 160km/hr was getting wobbly, more of a sport touring than sport streetfighter, so I was looking for more power and that...

    GIVI Top case

Installed a Givi rack and top case for those occasionnal trips. Doesn't look sporty needless to say but works very well super practical and does not bother bikes balance and can easily go to 180km/hr without problems. Great purchase! Also bought a tall GIVI windshield. Much better wind...
