    NY International Motorcycle Show 2011

So sorry to everyone I missed it. I'm feeling much better after the outpatient procedure and coming around. When your Ortho Surgeon says it's time and he can squeeze you in, you have to take it. I'm really disappointed to everyone I didn't make it. I wanted to be there a lot more than...

    What else do you do?

My biggest interest outside of Motorcycling is racquetball. Love to play, and in the winter it's really a good way to still get exercise. After competing for so long in this sport, the older I get the more I miss being younger. In the other seasons, I really like to commune with nature as...

2011 Yamaha FZ8 Review: Potent Middleweight Seeks Open-Minded Riders

Dustin, I think you might have misread my post. I was talking about brand new leftover FZ1s right next to new FZ8s for less money because they are last year's models. I agree and understand the desire to save money by buying used, but if someone was looking at a new bike, why would they pay...

    Which levers...

Love my CRG normal length levers, and one of the differences to me was the variability in customizing the lever and the adujusters. They are something I see every time I get on the bike, so for me it was worth it because I enjoy seeing them the way I had them ordered. The same would go for...

What grade oil would you use in a hot climate?

Depends somewhat on if you warm up your bike prior to taking off, too. If you're a good warmer and in very hot temps, you can even go with a Conventional Yamalube 20W-50 at very high temps. Just give it time to warm up.

2011 Yamaha FZ8 Review: Potent Middleweight Seeks Open-Minded Riders

I'm still trying to figure out why someone would prefer an 800cc downsized version of the FZ1 when there are nice bikes out there like the Aprilia Shiver and Ducati Monster 696/796 out there that seem to have much more soul and immensely usable powerbands. I know there's no top end rush in...

    New Member 2009 FZ1n Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome, welcome, welcome! I don't think you'll have too many problems with the 2009 ECU. I heard a lot of reports of problems with the 2006 fuel mapping so when I purchased my 2007 I expected serious problems. There weren't any. I added a slip-on and PCIII USB, and that certainly pepped...

    Sometimes I hate people.

Man, that's nuts! I would just say I'll keep your bike until you pay the bill, or dis-assemble any of the networking components installed in an Engineering job. Are these services usually agreed to in advance with a written estimate?

    Wheel Chocks

I'm with Pete, I use my Baxley Sport Chock as well, and move it from a trailer to a truck and then right down to hold the bike when I'm off it. I didn't follow the link which might be to the same thing, but I know I've used Pingel Pop-Chocks and had great success with them in my utility...

    1995 era Ninja 500R

Not fair Geno! I knew I shouldn't have looked back at this! You deleting the craziness above mine makes me look like an insensitive a$$. Bad Geno, bad! Tell your GF to spank you immediately, then slather you in pudding for punishment. At least you and I are square and know what we were...

    Sometimes I hate people.

I still have my man parts, but I've only been married for just over a year so I figure they will die a slow, painful death! Geno, I've always thought anytime someone offers me money I'm happy. It's easy to understand how so many things may have such different values to many different people...

    1995 era Ninja 500R

The color seems important to her, and the Ninja 250 as far back as 1999 was available in GREEN, will resell better, and will cost the same money. Considering all factors, and that this bike won't even be purchased for months, and the fact that the Ninja 250 cruised easily at 80mph under my...

    Riding pics from The Dragon

Train, Were you out there prior to 2009? I moved away in the summer of 2008, was back a couple of times just to ride, but I never saw another one out there except for the people I knew from the MVAgusta forum. The other MV rider over there is on a 2007 black F4R, mine was the F4 S (2005)...

    1995 era Ninja 500R

Absolutely agree with all of that, and that's why I think when someone is learning and has no muscle memory and extended reaction times the bike is a major factor. I guess we can certainly agree the 250 is what we'd put our wives on. :)

    1995 era Ninja 500R

Hail, would you then consider an FZ1 a decent starting point for someone mostly conservative but looking for their first bike? I think all things within reason, and a ZX6R isn't.
