Time for new chain / sprockets

Now that the sled is parked for winter time to focus on bike, last fall I noticed when lubing chain a rubber o-ring on the floor so time for a new chain. I have been running a 15/47 combination but thinking of maybe going to 15 /44 combo as I ride about a 100km per day with 80% being highway...

I sold my FZ1 bumble bee today :(

You are complaining come move to Friendly Manitoba, 2001 FZ1 with my fantastic driving record is $ 400.00 (sorry not 2000.00) per month. And to add salt to the wound they bill this over 5 months (riding season) with the only other option being paying out in full. My snowmobile is $ 700. I am...

    What a deal for someone!

Mine was knocked over on a parking lot and did $ 1400.00 damage on insurance. Bent bars, repaint fairing, brake lever, yoshi slip, decals....adds up pretty fast. On this bike I would have to ask why is it not fixed, surrely if you spent 11g's you would have taken insurance. something does...

    Oil Usage, Burning?

My Gen 1 which now has 49,000km uses about a quart in 5000 km. Now this being said I fill it to top of sight glass to stop the oil light from coming on, it seems to work its way down to mid point were it stays. Could probably go 5000 km with almost no oil if I could put up with the red oil...

    Winterizing your bike...

I actually do the same thing only drain the float bowls, easy and only takes a couple of minutes that way you are sure no fuel in carbs. Some winters I just start and run every few weeks and do not bother draining the carbs. Bike is in a heated garage so not a problem, usually start when I am...

In comparision to sleding were it is -25 hands are toasty. Also on the poll everyone forgot about the best accessory...

    Antifreeze Leak

Just looking for some input as I am lost on finding the problem. The last couple of mornings riding in to work I have a small antifreeze leak, enough to make steam on the motor as well as a few drops along the side panel behind the carbs. This only seems to happen on the highway and lookes...

Questions regarding FZ1 current Cruiser rider. (FZ6 riders please chime in)

I too am 49 and have been riding since 16 and have to say my FZ1 is hands down the best all around bike I have owned. Sure I have been tempted after riding a couple of Ducati's and new BMW's but as soon as I get back on my bike those thoughts quickly fade away. I have mine geared down so you...
