    check engine light

You are not alone! There are so many people with the same problem. I'm glad I found the loose connection though and like you will put up with it. I think that whenever I come to sell the bike I'll have to remove it as personally would never buy a bike with an intermittent engine management light!

    Kinked Fuel Line

Hi all, Can someone tell me some symptoms of a kinked fuel line? I recently messed about with the FCE and each time I tried to put the tank down it looks like it was kinking! There was nothing I could do to stop this. Also the fuel line upgrade, what exactly do I need to buy? Measurements...

    check engine light

I'm back, just to update this as it may help others who do a good search. I stripped the bike down to remove the bloody thing! Got all the way down to where the ECU connection is (cut wire from the plug) and found it to be a very loose connection. I gave this a little tug an it came out very...

    tank bag

I got a buffalo tank bag. Its pretty good and comes with all the straps to even wear it as a backpack. Has the hooks for bungy straps if you want it on the back of the bike (came with the straps). Came with a waterproof cover aswell. Its never flown off the bike which is the most...

    turn signal upgrades

I currently have LED's on the rear of my bike. Dont go down the resistor route, pay a little extra and get the proper relay. I was following an elderly woman the other week driving too fast and then on a corner left the road and ended up in a ditch. I then had to stay with her in the...

    Riding in Rain?

I use Nikwax on my visor, great stuff. I actually love riding in the rain, I don't like setting off in it but if it starts during my ride then.. BRING IT ON! Get the best gore-tex stuff you can and get on with it.

intermittent fault code 20 & engine light

Quick update for people that may view this in the future. Stripped the bike down to remove the FCE and found a loose connection where the cables are joined at the ECU plug (directly under the airbox). I re-crimped it and the fault has now gone. Fingers crossed

    Chain & Sprocket

Damn that's annoying, sorry about that. Ill put a link up for the specific item, it's just I've read some reviews on other forums about having to take the swing arm off etc because you can get endless chains. Can't believe this site doesn't say if it is or isnt... I'll post back tomorrow...

    Chain & Sprocket

Not sure if this is going to work but can someone please check this link and see the basket: SPORTSBIKESHOP - Shopping Basket There are two chains in there but I only want one of them.. My only question is, the chain is advertised as 'sealed' does this mean the chain is unbroken and...

    Aftermarket Mirrors or Repair..?

Oh look what I found, work in progress!

    Aftermarket Mirrors or Repair..?

One thing I'd also like to mention is that when I took the mirrors off, one of the mirrors was quite badly corroded at the bottom which is covered by the rubber grommet. Full of rust etc. Obviously where the water is getting trapped! It has always been tight when folding them in (I fold them...

    Aftermarket Mirrors or Repair..?

Just did a quick google and I see what you mean about finding it hard to get. Personally, I'm going to leave it, If its gets damaged in anyway then Ill get hold of some Matt Lacquer and re-paint the whole thing again. Thanks for the info, learnt something new about paint! :)

    Aftermarket Mirrors or Repair..?

Do you mean a lacquer? I didn't want to lacquer it otherwise it would give it a very shiny look. I wanted the look to be the same as the frame and the rubber grommet at the bottom of the mirror and also to match the plastic insert. It came out shinier than I though so a lacquer probably...

    Aftermarket Mirrors or Repair..?

Well, i'm back! Firstly let me thank you NJFZ1 for your reply and advise! I managed to wangle some 'Working from home' type work and spend the next couple of days working on the bike :) One of the jobs was to sort the wing mirrors, so here are a few pics of the job. Only thing I would...

    FZ1 Weird Idle

Amazing, I had this problem this morning! Not had it before, it then came up with fault code 14 on the display. Since that I adjusted the idle erratically and then down to the correct level and all seems well.... Fingers crossed

    Fault Code 14

I cant see how that is a pressure sensor though, im sure that is the temp sensor? If you take that off and look at the other side (pointy bit) its a solid unit. Therefore it cannot be a pressure sensor. A pressure sensor has to measure flow and like the atmospheric pressure sensor will...

    Fault Code 14

The sensor on top of the airbox is the intake air temp sensor, not the pressure sensor....? Well, the fault has now stopped! Need to go out for a ride really to make sure it runs ok etc. Stupid bikes! Haha Thanks for your answers, I shall have to open it back up :( Shame it will have to...
