I was at the Vortex in Atlanta last night on the 06 Kenny Roberts FZ1 and even the Harley guys were complimenting it. One guy was wearing a shirt that said "If loud pipes save lives, imagine what actually learning to ride would do". Cracked me up... soo true.

Yeah, I have several very nice bikes advertised really cheap- like an 05 Aprilia Tuono 1000R for 5500.00 and still no buyers. Crazy. The big dealers around Atlanta have been in the red for almost a full year now. I wonder how long they can last... I think the whole landscape is about to change...

Yamaha only sells the grip as an assembly with the throttle tube, but as Billy points out, you can cut the old grip off the tube and use an aftermarket set of grips. Some fit better than others over the stock throttle tube, but I've had good luck with Superbike grips.

I'm selling the FZ1 I just finished painting. It had some scratches and dings from being transported in a trailer so I decided to go ahead and do something cool. 7000 miles and it really looks and rides like new. Brand new Michelin Pilots, too!

I have an 06 that I'm riding right now and I don't really notice any problem with the throttle- seems smooth compared to my Aprilia Tuono. I agree with the folks who recommend used- usually a great deal, and a 1000cc bike is pretty hard to hurt. it will usually hurt you long before you hurt...
