That's what heated gear is for. You could always trailer your bike over the mountains if it is too cold for you.:D:D
We got snow last night in Colorado. Couple of inches on Pikes Peak with the snow level at ~12,000 ft.
Hey, good to see you are home. I was looking for a progress update yesterday, but figured you must have been having too good a time out on the town.
Enjoyed your pictures along the way...glad I didn't say anything about the bowling alley.
Glad to hear you made it home safe and sound, and didn't totally melt away.
Appears you made pretty good time. What time did you leave on Sunday?
My bike showed 100 degrees in Canon City but it was only for about 15 minutes before it started slowly dropping to 88 degrees over the next 50...
Not with the tires I'm running in that pic, need to slap on some knobbies. We were at the top of Red Mountain Pass re-grouping after a quick run through the switchbacks, The jeeps pulled off and were heading for Black Bear Pass. Did you get to do that one on your trip here Lee? or is that one of...
If you can work in CO 92 along the north rim of the Black Canyon and CO 65 over the Grand Mesa, those are both nice twisty rides (with great scenery/views) that you'd probably enjoy. They won't add too many miles as they are just a bit further east of the Hwy 550/50 run you have from Ouray to...
We do need to come up to Vancouver. Lot's of great riding between CO and Vancover though, so I'd be more than happy to ride there. Eastern CO and Kansas, and anytime I have to stick to the Interstate to make time to get to a destination not so much, I'm ok with trailering while in the...
I second that. I've have one mounting hole that has torn to the edge in one corner of the plate. I used big-a$$ washers and used all 4 holes and it seems to be holding fine. Our's is a dual bike version and we've put about 5K miles on it. Used it to bring my GSA back from Salt Lake and it did...
I just purchased T30's as I couldn't pass up the price and it sounds like a great tire, but the Conti is supposed to be great on dry pavement, and it hardly ever rains in CO, so they were next in line on my pick list. Angel's are high on my list also.
Thanks for checking. There seem to be lots of manufacturer's for these now. I just picked a vendor on Ebay that had shipped a lot of these and had good reviews. Ordered last week, arrived in a couple of days... All is good, no more fault codes.
Might be a month or so before I get them on and have any comments. The Ducati is not even at our house for the moment. With Lytehouse getting a new bike and not selling any of her others yet, we ran into a bit of a capacity problem in the garage (fortunately we have family with garage space in...
Well, since everyone here seems to like them, I got in under the wire for the Bridgestone $40 rebate on the T30's that ended March 31st. I've been running the Dunlop Q2's on the Ducati and was considering going with the Q3's, but they are really more stick than I need and only last a bit over 4K...
Well, I fault isolated it to the EXUP motor, it does not cycle when I turn the ignition on, but I do hear a hum from the unit. I had tape labeling the "top" cable, but who knows. I put those on about 5 years ago. Looks like I can get an EXUP eliminator plug for $50-$60 or I can go the ebay...
Well, as some of you may know, Lytehouse recently got a new bike and I have been returning the FZ1 to stock. Part of that process has been to remove the MIVV exhaust and put the stocker back on. Unfortunately, that has not gone without some complications. I've got it all back together, and...
I agree with Dustin, I'd be shocked if you found a route, even on backroads, that didn't have gas. Where in AZ are you coming from?
As far as winter gear, even for a desert rat, plan on average temps in towns like Ouray, Silverton and Telluride being about 70-80, plus or minus about 5 degrees...
