you are fortunate being able to choose where to put ur feet. I am 5"2 and when I put both feet down it will only touch my toes. But I was able to figure out the best position which is the back of the peg with just 1 feet down.

to save some $$$, just remove the tire and peek from the inside to see how deep the nail penetrate... but then again its ur call. personally I would just change the tire and keep this one for my long haul ride as a spare..
