Other than some rain Washington is fine for riding in October. My sister lives in Athens GA and I had been thinking of riding that way, but flew instead. That is a very aggressive plan for a ride! If you did drain and drop the radiator down, you could end up with air/air bubbles in the coolant system. It really has to be related to the cooling system. As mentioned above the AIS (Air Induction System) will not affect running temps.

Interesting how many different opinions folks have on these. I have the stock seat and did 300+ miles yesterday and it was fine. My friend has the Yamaha gel seat and couldn't stop complaining about it. Maybe the variety of size and shape of our rear ends makes a difference........:D No one size...

Exactly. Many performance issues on this forum have been attributed to the FCE. It ONLY deals with the fuel cutoff and the abrupt throttle action. Of course you won't notice any performance gains or losses....That beiong said, it was one of the best mods I have done.
