Aftermarket wheels ?

There a several very nice brands, check out Hard Racing. Hard Racing On-Line Catalog

That said I had my OEM wheels off my R6, same as the R1 and GenII FZ1, and they are very, very light. What is heavy are the rotors, bolts and bearing. Instead of $1,500+ a wheel you may want to look into those other items instead; ceramic bearings, Ti bolts kits, and wave rotors. Tires can have a big impact too. The Pilot Pure is supposed to be very light.

As Hellgate said it will be an expensive way to go about reducing unsprung weight. I would try the wave rotors and lighter tires first...
 
Tasty Nuts makes Ti and Alu nuts and bolts. You can get them in the US but the UK web site is better than any US web site I've found.

And of course for brake rotors there is Galfer. On my wish list are the EBC XC rotors.

That said, combine all of the above with a nice set of wheels and you'll have one killer package. :)

Oh I forget the most obvious thing, the rear steel sprocket weights a ton. You can change from a 530 chain kit to a 520 kit. With a SuperSprox sprocket, that saves ~ 1.65 lbs! If you can put up with the high wear change to an alu sprocket you can save even more weight.

I like Renthal and AFAM for alu sprockets.

I weighted the spare wheels off my R6 last night on the digital scale.

Striped, only bearings installed, no rotors, sprockets, bolts, cush drives, spacers, etc.

Front: 9.64 lbs

Rear (5.5") 11.62 lbs.

Hard Racing lists the Marchesini 10 spoke Alu at:

Front: 7.99 lbs

Rear: 10.88 lbs

Not much of a difference in weight for the hefty price...I still say better off with the Galfer rotors and the Michelin Power Pure tires ;)

Well Ti is almost half as heavy as steel, but I'm sure you're still talking a matter of grams when it comes to the rotor bolts. Also since the bolts are pretty close to the center of the wheel the weight savings wont be as noticeable.

I still say the weight savings of the Michelin Power Pure tires are probably the best bang for the buck. You're talking about 2 lbs per tire according to Michelin, although Ti bolts are very cool. It's almost eerie to hold them in your hand and feel how light, yet strong, they are :)
 
The Galfer rear, wave rotor is a very good bang for the buck, about 1.5 lbs less weight for about $110. And of course the 520 kit is about $200, depending on what you buy.

None of it is cheap at this point.
