Comfortability fz6/fz1

So just curious how much more is the 1 over the 6?
Please understand I don't rightfully know how much I pay for my 6 because it just gets paid like the other bills but could it be said it's like $80.00 more or what. I really am wanting an fz1 but if it is as steep as that perhaps the 6 is where I belong.

I'm assuming you're talking about insurance? I don't remember the exact numbers, but my FZ6 was around $600 a year to insure, and my FZ1 is around $780. (that's before various discounts I get and such). Overall not a huge difference, just was something to mention.

A lot of things go into that - like Kentucky insurance prices suck. I also think because it's year one on the bigger bike for me they're charging me more, and after they see I'm still the same careful driver I used to be it'll come down. This doesn't add much to the cost - but the FZ1 is worth more and I have comprehensive coverage.

I agree with all of Eric's comments except vibrations. I feel the foot pegs vibrate more on the FZ1, but everything else vibrates significantly less.

Oh, and the stock seats aren't that comfortable -- but the FZ1 stock is more comfortable than the FZ6 stock to me.

Ins n vibes.

Oh I was informed by the significant other that my bike is paid just like the cars are, so it's like on a continuous basis so the extra $180. is or would be a lot less of an impact. I'm led to believe I pay around $480 or so, so probably less here in Michigan. I have a friend who has a KTM 950, on a trade bike ride one weekend I noticed his bikes vibrations were hand numbing compared to the Fz6, but after a while I got used to it. Got back on the 6 and what a difference smooth as silk. Now on other occasions I've ridden his bike and it's
not been so noticeable.........just an observation. You guys say the footpegs vibrate on the Fz1... I've got to experience this for misself.

Just get the FZ1 because you will quickly outgrow the FZ6 with your needs making it a moot point anyway.

Hmm.. I've had my 6 for 3+ years and honestly I never *outgrew* it. It's a fantastic bike that can do everything quite well.
I can see outgrowing a 250cc, but not the 6. Just my opinion.

+1

I didn't outgrow my FZ6 - that thing has more power than I know what to do with. I just feel the FZ1 is a better bike for me.

My friend with the Ktm says I hav'nt learned to ride the 6 yet so why buy a 1.
I feel I'm to heavy for the 6 though. Gotta admit I rode to Detroit yesterday and the 6 did'nt miss a beat. On the eway I maintained lane control and posture without a struggle. Averaged 90mph to and fro. I know that's kinda steep but we're talkin metro type traffic.
