Best luggage for 08 FZ1?

I like that Cortech.
I think it does have something but I really liked the newer model. It is SHARP!!!
I just couldn't swing the price. Anyway - the newer model has a great tie down system. Here is Wolfman's video showing how it works:

I think the model that I bought has a strap on each end. LOL Never fear!!! I will creat some red neck solution to tie that sucker down!!! HAHAHA!!!!

If you shop around you can get the Givi V35s and the mounts for just a little over $700 if you stick with the flat black cases. They also come in gloss black, matte black, gloss silver and satin silver.

My local dealer, where I bought the bike is also a Twisted Throttle dealer. I just placed an order for the bags. I will write them up and post pictures when they come in. I haven't received a delivery date yet.

Just heard back, bags are backordered until the end of the month.

It is always hard to gauge size in photos, especially thumbnails, but I had a suspicion these were smaller than my Cortech panniers. They are. I would guesstimate they contain 2/3rds capacity of the Cortechs when they are expanded.

That said the system for mounting these is outstanding. When all the bracketry is removed, only a small clip remains attached to the pillion pegs. When mounted, the bags don't quite have that factory look but compliment my Granite Grey steed adequately. I don't think they look ugly or detract from the bike. If you value function over form, these are fantastic. I really like the red logos on the back of each pannier.

The actual installation of the equipment took about 15 minutes and only required two Allen wrenches and an 8mm box wrench. The included instructions are concise and decently written. If you are somewhat competent with tools they probably aren't necessary.

The only complaint thus far about the system is the rain protection. My Cortechs included a rain cover that enveloped the bags and could be installed and removed quickly as the environment dictated. The Bags-Connection panniers use an interior roll-top dry bag. You would really need to decide whether the extra weather protection is needed at the beginning of a ride instead of midway through hunkered under an overpass.

Can those brackets/ detachable bars be bought separately? I already have the Cortech tri-bag system. So far no problems with the bags going into the tire area but I haven't heavily loaded them yet.
 
I am deff getting these for my long summer trips. Not a bad price either, just won't be needing these for a few months so that's good.

I believe TwistedThrottle is the only place that is carrying them now. The local Yammy dealer here in Charlottesville is a TT dealer. He got them for me for 280 plus tax. He also got them in before TT could somehow.
 
Wannabe, Looking at then installation . . . It 'appears' that the quick release attachment, for the bags, might have a problem w/the Ohlin shock adjustment(ers). Any comment(s)/opinions on this bag installation w/the Ohlin?
