FZ1 with 2009 R1 Engine

saludos desde Uruguay

Different frame and probably different mounting points. I am sure it can be made to fit, but wont be an easy job.

Oh and I wouldn't expect to see the flat crank R1 engine in the next gen FZ1 in 2011 (if there is even one). Yamaha seems to always use the previous gen R1 engine in the new FZ1.

hola , sabes cuando está el nuevo fz1 2011 a la venta en usa ?

It makes 158hp but, an additional 30 at top end. (188 claimed). Saw this on "Twist of the Throttle: Yamaha" last night. They said the new R1's are built with a vacuum system that inducts cold air at a high right, exurting all the hot air, building a max horsepower gain of 30.

Sounded like crap, but it was from Yamaha's lead designer, and being that it competes with 180 HP bikes as it is, it'd make sense.
