2007 Ninja 250R For Sale!

It will probably be either an FZ6 or YZF600. Whichever way he wants to go. Either bike is sporty enough for him. I'll find a big parking lot where he can practice with the FZ1 and not get himself in trouble. He has good throttle control so he should be fine.

That's the spirit!! You Go Dad. It's going to be a long 2 years for him though, hopefully his mother sees how unhappy this will probably make him.

At this point in the game, it's really my son's decision. I am all for keeping it and having him ride but if you knew his mother, you'd understand. Me, I value my peaceful existence and that has been disturbed for the last 7 days. I've really had enough. Once he's 18, he'll be an adult and she will have no say in what he can do or not do. I'm cordially inviting everyone here to the big bike inveiling ceremony on March 5th, 2012! Chips and dip for everyone followed by a group ride past her house where we'll all rev our engines and pull wheelies!!!!

You know that I have never been to NYC, sounds like a good time to see it! Maybe you should write to Jason Briton and have him film a show on that street that night.

Now THATS a great idea. I will probably see him down at the Superbike Races in September. I'll have to run it by him.

How could he say NO to that face!

In the meantime, maybe this will take his mind off not having a bike for a while.LOL!

Are you kidding me? This has got to be a heart breaker for you both. Can't Richie just disown her? ;) That poor kid... she's not interested in what is best for him at all, she is only interested in how she can be vindictive and hateful toward you Billy. She's lucky it isn't NH because 16 yrs old is when kids do what THEY want here. If a 16 yr old does something against the parents wishes, the cops will drag them back just once. After that, you/they are on their own. In this state, Richie would keep the bike, likely move in with Dad ONLY and let Mom whine 24/7 at her own place.

Your Ex is a rotten, self-centered, evil, heartless b*tch with no concern over what makes her own son happy....

I wish I could sell the scoot that fast and pick up the bike Billy! Damn!!

Finally! Someone who understands the situation. Thanks Eric! I'm just going to let her hang herself with her own noose. She is only postponing the inevitable, like it or not. My son will ride a motorcycle. It's something that he wants to do, not something that I have forced upon him. He's had cars and bikes in his hand since he could crawl. It's in his blood and no amount of yelling and screaming can change that.

Your invited to the big unveiling as well buddy. I'll have some Sam Adams here for you.....for after the ride of course!

I'm sorry to read this painfull story, where the only victim is Richie for the next two years. Your ex-wife is not at all argiung in the best interest of her son...a pity...but can understand the frustration you do not wanna get onto yourself and burden Richie with potential further hassle...as you suggested, if I would be travelling to the US this year, I might take the 250 from you and drive it to the member who was buying it across the country :-)

Thanks Arnold. Your exactly right. Her argument is that it's too dangerous for him to be riding and that I am trying to live my lost childhood through my son! Can you believe that one! I have been riding motorcycles since I was 15 years old and I'm 48 now. What the hell did I lose?! She would rather her son not be taught the proper way of riding and defense that will also help him when driving a car as well. Not to mention that here in NY, you can be killed or injured just crossing the street! I have never in my life felt more vulnerable riding my bike than driving my car, never. I actually feel more in control when I'm on my bike.

For now, I just want to get the bike sold so I can concentrate on enjoying my summer rides. Unfortunately for Richie, he'll be playing the passenger again for a while.

I'll pitch $20 toward a muzzle for her. ;)

How does she feel that Richie is safer as a passenger than in total control of the bike? He doesn't ride it unless he is with you and you're not a hooligan. Have her sign into this forum and try and explain it. We'll let her know she is wrong and she will do nothing more than alienate her only son!

I've adapted the, "I don't care" additude when dealing with people like that several years ago; a few years after I started working in the Jail.

From my years of people watching/studying, people like your wife get off on the attention they recieve when they act out like this. Kind of like very young kids when they whine and scream. Stop giving them the mind/attention, they'll soon stop. So, maybe just ignore her, have Richie do the same, and see where it goes? She's going to have little toddler meltdowns, but when she sees that it's not going to get her anywhere and things are the way they are, maybe she'll backoff?

I mean, other than making his life hell, what ground does she have to stand on? You don't want a defiant child, so Richie will have to man the storm, but if he can ignore it, you'll both be able to ride?

My god Billy I feel like I just read something that my ex-wife would do. She can be a SUPERBIT@H that does not care about anything but her controling everything. I hate to hear that she has given yall so much hell over this. I hope she will chill out and come to understand that she is just hurting Richie. On the bright side 18 is only two years away. My birthday is also march 5th and i will think of yall on that day and hope that Richie gets a nice new ride for his 18th!!! My birthday wish that day will be that Richie can tell his mom to go stick it where the sun dosent shine and enjoy his ride without her bit@hing.

Thanks Adam. I guess you've "been there and done that" hey, so you know how it goes. She's only hurting herself in the longrun so I'll just sit back and let her hang herself. I never talk bad about her in front of Richie. It is his mother regardless of how nutty she can be and he has to respect her wishes for now. He was also grown up enough to come to me about selling it. He sees how it's been the last week around here and is being very considerate. His mother should take some lessons from him, she just might learn something!

Good thing Richie has YOU as his parent because he's not getting support from her. Billy, you're doing a GREAT job with this young man. That alone is something to be very proud of. A lot of son's would love a Dad like you!

Thanks Eric, I truly appreciate your sentiments. I give much of the credit to Richie himself. He is a great kid who has never once given me one problem. It's been easy sailing since Day 1 and I'm grateful for that. I've always tried to instill all the things that I've learned through my years. I've been out of my house since I was 16 years old and had an abusive father that I had to deal with every one of those years. I made a promise to myself that I would never treat my son the way I was treated and it has paid off big time. I know theres no rush because a kid like that will have anything he wants in life. He has the brains and the maturity of kids much older than him. Thanks again!

Billy, You're doing the right thing even if it does get under your shorts. I have two ex-wives and if you think keeping one happy is hard, try keeping two happy while you're married to a third woman. Take solace in the fact that you are making your own life a little easier by keeping the "wolf" at bay. We all know that motorcycling is a bit hazardous and if anything did happen to your son while he was on the bike you'd for sure never hear the end of it.

Well, the Ninja is tentatively sold. Some guy from Long Island just called and insists that he will be here tomorrow afternoon with cash in hand. I guess we'll see. Thanks to everyone for all their kind words of support. Richie is fine. He's a bright kid and knows that when I say something, I do it, so he'll be back in two short years and better than ever!
