Just after I said I was bored today, the mailman showed up and delivered my new Copperdog LED front blinker fairings. So, I grabbed up the box and headed out to the Busted Knuckle Garage.

First, the blinker fairings themselves. As expected, very high quality, very light weight and well thought out. Included is a new flasher that works with all LED or any combo of LED and incandescent lights. Nice find Patrick!

These took a little time and effort to install. You have to remove the inner fairings then disconnect your stock blinkers and remove them. Mine happen to have the Pod LED lights already spliced in. I cut the wiring and tested the connections first. After I verified operational status, I soldered the wires and taped it all up with the slack folded up. Under the rear seat, remove the stock flasher and replace with the new included module. Shots of wire test, template for drilling and soldering job.

Here is a short video of the lights in action with the pod lights. These are very bright in the day time. The next post will have shows of the bike finished up.

Nope, it's not public yet.

It's really amazing how much the new parts totally change the look of the bike.

Now we need to get you into a shock and you'll be good-to-go Eric.

Wow! They turned out great Eric. And with that many LEDs per light I bet they are plenty bright. Take a night shot when you have some time. Oh and now you definitely have a very nice looking and unique bike

Thanks all! It was a long wait but I knew that going into the order. But it was a wait that was very much worth it! Loving the new look!

Let's try this link for the video....

YES! Pete, I'll be ordering a Penske and some new front springs to beef that up. Those will likely be Christmas though as I've gotten away with quite a bit this year already. Then, my birthday is 3 weeks after Christmas... Power Commander V anyone? :D

Tony, I'll get a walk-around video at night, maybe tomorrow evening. :D I'll get it with all the lights going.

Nice job again! I'd love to get those done to mine tbh, but I'd probably cock it up!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm going to talk to my insurance agent about upping the rider for my mods to about $2,500 and see what the extra will cost. I'd hate to have an off and get only money for the bike at this point!

Now these I do like. Well done to you and Copperdawg.

Question.

Since you have the pod lights installed, what was your wiring of them to your blinkers? I can't get mine to blink w/ front LEDs. It might be that my front protons are regulated while the pods aren't so therefore I create a load balance issue. I have my pods set to running lights only which I don't mind, but I'd like to get them to blink again. I've put a new relay in, but I'm also running rear LED's so I'm 100% LED which still might be to much load imbalance to rectify w/o resistors.

There are no markings to speak of on the new flasher that Patrick provided but he claims this flasher will support any combination of the LED and/or incandescent lights without the need for any resistors. I believe he is correct because I have his two stock bulb rear pods then the new LED pods on the front with the 6 LED pod lights in the fairing. The front four lights all run as running lights and alternating blinkers as seen in the video. :D

Perhaps you can email him from his web site and ask if you can buy just that flasher? Maybe he will even point you to where he gets it... don't know. As for the wiring... I'd have to review some old pics to come up with the wiring scheme...

Hope this helps!!
