I've got the tentative OK from the "accountant" that based on this years tax return and should my bonus be over "X" for a dollar amount, I can take a small percentage and be selfish with it.

I'm looking at the Cobalt Blue items from Copperdog as follows:

medium scallop gloss screen with mirror cutouts
Strike seat cowl
4 piece blinker pod set

Also, the Evotech FZ1 exhaust hanger

And, I just ordered the Sears rear trunk to make a travel trunk out of my pillion seat thanks to theWolfTamer's suggestions.

:woot: This is a good year for the FZ1!

Guess what? Ordered the copperdawg long a couple days ago. No cuts/gloss/candy red. Been happy with the yam long screen, but it started twitching odd at speed. So, I'll try the copper.

The tech guy said it takes 3/5 weeks to get it. So, don't be in a hurry. Just hope it doesn't do the same odd vibs as my current one. Only did it once, but it bugged me.

Oh that is going to look great Eric! My plan is to get the lower chin cowl this year and somehow get my seat cowl painted. I got the one that comes with the Yamaha retro kit sitting in the close, but as you know it comes in white, which doesn't exactly match my bike.

I am going for the black-out treatment for the rest of the silver parts on the bike. Hopefully this Sunday coming up I get the pegs done so I can at least ride again. Then at some point I am going to do the triple tree and the handlebar.

I've just now listed, for the first time, all that I've done for the bike since I bought her on June 6th, 2009.... The list is growing! It really is an EVIL MAD hole we modders fall into....

  1. Pod light mod
  2. LARS Airbox mod
  3. Descreened OEM air filter
  4. Modded sub-throttle plates
  5. AIS Blockoff
  6. Two Brothers Titanium Slip-on
  7. Cut down stock FE mod
  8. Yamaha OEM lower cowl
  9. Tank Camera Mount
  10. SAE battery lead
  11. Powerlett
  12. JW Radiator Guard
  13. GPR Steering Stabilizer
  14. Tank protector
  15. RAM mount with Aquabox for GPS
  16. 16T front sprocket
  17. Faux Carbon fiber Yamaha decals

Will install this summer:
  1. Copperdog speed screen
  2. Copperdog Strike Seat Cowl
  3. Copperdog 4 piece blinker pods
  4. Evotech Exhaust hanger
  5. Graves FE Kit
  6. Possibly heavy Throttlemeisters

Not bad for a bike she said, shortly after I picked it out.... "You're NOT modding this bike! You'll just sell it and lose all that money!" :o

Thanks scout, for the heads-up! I know he is backlogged on orders right now and was also told 3 - 5 weeks as well. I'm going to guess even a bit longer given the size of the order I'll place. ;) But, I'm in no hurry and will take it when he can get it done. I'd rather that he do a perfect job than a rushed job.

That vibe? Are you sure it isn't the dreaded air duct? We've got threads here on fixing that one. :D

Tony, you'll love the lower cowl. I think it really sets the bike apart from the stock ones by a mile. Gives it a lot of character!

Do you have the colorrite number for your bike's paint? Copperdog can give that to you. He might even paint yours for a small price on one of his "red" shoots. He's done this for others. :D

Yea, I got the paint code somewhere. Even found a place online that will sell it in a spray can, but I am not sure how well it will turn out since it has a lot of metallic in it. I may ask him to paint it for me if I buy a screen from him, but that is down the road. I also need to spend more money to finish the YZF so FZ1 mods may wait for a while.

Thanks, but pretty sure it was the screen as it also moved back and forth. i was on the slab kinda hard, but not wot; I think I had some funny air, as we get some wind around here. When I went to the copper site, I kinda saw that his may be more than a little substantial, so went for one. I like the 'wing' things, too.

Just hope it works. It should as he designed it for our bike. That's cool.

PICS PLEASE!

Cannot go wrong with the CD screen I luv mine

Can't wait to see it Eric! FYI - I ordered my seat cowl at the beginning of January. I have had some email correspondence with Patrick which makes me think mine is now being worked on or soon will be. Either way I am in no rush...

You've definitely been a handy man at modifying you ride to make it your personal experience. That's good when you get that satisfied feeling, wheeling down the road. The only problem arrives when you decide to sell and the great majority of the cash spent goes down the drain. Enjoy it while you can, take lots of pictures to remember it by. We all do down that slippery road a few times during our riding years.

lol, yeah, when I found out that it could be 5 weeks, I told him that I guess I'm in no hurry. No choice.

Yes, this is very true and did happen with my last FZ6 which is why my wife made that comment. But, I told her this bike was here to stay. I don't see a need to go selling or trading. I told her the next bike would be an addition to the stable and not a replacement.

But, as we know, things change all the time... Right now, I say no flippin' way to getting rid of her, but, I also have kept all original parts to put her back to stock should I ever change my mind, something I didn't do with the FZ6. ;)

I still have to wait until the end of the month for my bonus amount but based on the company performance and my "very nice" rating I got, it should be substantial! I'll likely order this stuff either the last week of the month or the first week in April.

Next year, I'm not sure what I'll be doing to the Fz.... I know I'
ll likely put a Power Commander in and get her tuned. Just not a lot left to change!

Think She'll buy that.......lol....

Not a chance! :th_smiley_rotfl2[1] That was a good one!

So, she just called and said "I think you can order all that stuff you wanted." I asked "What? I haven't got my bonus amount..." She said "I DID!" She's never gotten a "large" bonus where she works and this time, it was almost 3 times her best-ever bonus!

Going to e-mail Patrick NOW!!! (Before she "wakes up" and changes her mind!)

All hail the greatest wife EVAH!

:worship:

Don't waste any time. You know a woman will always change her mind sooner or later!!!

Didn't! I've already e-mailed Patrick and set up the deal. He is invoicing my PayPal account this afternoon. :D He did also tell me that it was a 3 - 5 week backlog but I'm in no hurry so I'll sit back and wait (impatiently but quietly... ;) ) while he works his magic.

Now I have to get online and get the Evotech exhaust hanger and the Graves FE kit.

I promise there will be a lot of pics, maybe even a BOTM pic if I get the right backdrop! :D
