Scorpion + Givi side cases: a bit of an issue

That Was fast

That is what I was talking about. Is that carbon fiber decal over metal or actually carbon fiber for the piece you made? As long as it is solid and won't flex you should be OK, just keep an eye on it until you are sure.

The increased air flow and increased gap should be enough, but it still wouldn't hurt to add the extra layer of heat shield material. I don't think you have much to worry about anymore. My MIVV GP was fine under my GIVIs, (with the baffle in). Without the baffle, flames would shoot out on decel, and it was obnoxiously loud.

I made the plate out of aluminum and used carbon fiber wrap on front and back.

The can is not moving at all if I push/pull on it, but I'll definitely keep an eye on it. If the case still gets too warm for my liking, I'll go with another layer of heat shield material.

LOL @ shooting flames.. now that could REALLY cook a proper meal in the case.. with only a slight plasticy aroma!

Another option.... I don't know if your mid-pipe will do this but on the Two Bros, I can twist the mid-pipe with it loosened at both ends and it changes the angle of the slip-on. That might buy you even more clearance but what you've done already is quite significant.

Well done and awesome tip Lee!

Yup, I had to rotate the pipe (before I made the new bracket) to get the angle right, but didn't even think to do it again with all this new clearance. I also sent a picture to Scorpion asking if they see any issues with this setup.

Forgot to mention.. I sent a pic of my bracket to Scorpion asking if my set up was OK (would not want to void the warranty). They said they seen no issues with it... AND.. checked the case after longish ride.. barely warm to the touch!!

Looking at your side case get some thin aliminum or tin and try EVO sticking them on or if you know anyone in the woodworking industry there is a red glue that is strong as anything we used to use it to stick laminate to counter tops.

Thanks, but no need now. The custom bracket solved the issue beautifully. The case doesn't even get warm anymore! I got the factory oval carbon. I kept the stick-on heat shield on, but really I can pull it off and it'll still be fine!
