After much use of the search button and hours of reading, it seems my full Akra system purchase may have opened a financial can of worms but I would appreciate if you guys could clarify some questions for me...

1 - I must block off or remove the AIS, so I have ordered Roth blank off plates.

2 - Can I run the full system without a PCV and it will run happily?

3 - If I must buy a PCV, must I then also buy the Autotune AT-200 O2 sensor or will the PCV run without it and what potential gains/losses will I achieve with and without the Autotune?

4 - ECU flash, anybody any idea if Ivan has sorted a flash for European bikes yet and should this mod only be done after the PCV is fitted

5 - Zip tying the flies open, when should this mod be done and in conjunction with what other mods?

6 - Airbox mod, Im assuming that this should only been done after the PCV is fitted?.....More air in needs more fuel!

7 - K&N filter, as with the airbox mod, should I wait to fit the PCV when the full system is fitted?

All answers appreciated gents :thewave:

Talking with the Customer Service Manager at Two Brothers, they explained that if you do a slip on, you don't need to do a PCV. If you do a full system, you may need a PCV, you may not, probably better if you do. If you do a K&N filter, absolutely you should do a PCV. On all the bikes they have done all the years, they said that it was the combination of aftermarket air filter and change in the exhaust that led to enough change in the air fuel ratios to cause problems with the engine.

I'm sure many more members here have personal/professional experience but that was the advice I was given.

It depends what you think is happily... my opinion is no.
You will not damage anything.

I would not buy the AT unless you think there is a problem that cannot be sorted with the mapping that it comes with... Ride the bike first and see.

I am doing European bikes... I have PCV's in stock and ready to ship.. I can send you one with your ecu already programmed for my ecu flash.

5 - Zip tying the flies open, when should this mod be done and in conjunction with what other mods?
Only do this with a PCV... My flash takes care of the sub-throttles... so no need to touch them.

6 - Airbox mod, Im assuming that this should only been done after the PCV is fitted?.....More air in needs more fuel!
Correct.

7 - K&N filter, as with the airbox mod, should I wait to fit the PCV when the full system is fitted?
I would do it all together (if you can afford it), Why keep taking the bike apart?

If you need pricing, please send me a PM.

Ivan

Just picked up one of your FCE's Ivan from ebay uk.

Just need a price for the PC5 and the ECU flash.

Slow down Mattsplat, if your going to get your ECU flashed you no longer need an FCE. Do your research first.

Sent from my GT-I9300

I cant afford to have the ECU flashed this year, Ive already broke the bank.

And the next thing my money will be going on is a PC3 or 5.

BUT, I didnt realise that I wouldnt need an FCE if I was having my ECU flashed, Ive been reading so much about so many mods my head is spinning :rmwl:

I guess there will be a 2nd hand FCE up for sale next year then...

I couldnt have my new Akrapovic arrive and I not be able to try it out for the sake of not having a power commander.

So I bit the bullet and just bought a PCV.

Just a decent air filter to get and thats me done with performance mods for this year.

I hope...

You Sir..... have no patience! I like that! LOL!!! Are you going Dyno or canned maps? Modding the airbox? and BTW, tying the flies open will make low/mid-range ever worse, just so you know. Go with the modded flies.

Enjoy!

You Sir are correct, I have no patience!

I will wait to mod the airbox till I have the flashed ECU (next year some time) and go with a K&N or BMC filter for now and get the bike dyno'd.

Once Ive had the ECU done, I will also get throttle plates and mod the airbox at the same time and then I can use one of Ivans maps.

So next summer the bike should be in order with...

Full Akra system.
PCV
FCE
Sub throttle plates
BMC filter
Modded airbox
Flashed ECU

And if that doesnt liven her up in the mid range, then I will probably set it on fire out of sheer fustration:deadhorse:

Sounds great! But remember, when Ivan flashes the ECU, the FCE is no longer needed. He removes the fuel cut inside the ECU and negates the need for the FCE. He's running a special right now where you send the ECU AND the FCE and you get back just the ECU at a discounted rate. You should inquire about this... maybe you can do this sooner and get that discount?

And I'd do the air filter and modded airbox BEFORE you get it Dyno'd... It will be worth the effort and outcome with a full exhaust. Why open up the flow of exhaust and starve what feeds it? ;)

[quoteI will wait to mod the airbox till I have the flashed ECU][/quote]Do the airbox when you get the PC3/5. Dont wait for the ECU.

Can you send back the FCE?

Well its seems Ive made a massive bo bo

FCE on its way.
Ordered a PCV this weekend.

Then I find a place local to me that can reflash the ECU for €350!

Thats less than the price of the FCE and PCV....

Trying to back out of the PCV purchase as we speak but the FCE is already on it way?

I feel like an idiot now as people had said do the ECU and forget the other stuff :banghead:
