Please help me vote AGAINST this!!!! Motorcycle only check points

The only thing to do with all the stops is to install dash cams in the trucks and log each stop. Then just file a lawsuit against the city for harassment. Takes a lot of money to do it though. If the officer says the driver was weaving in the road, you have the dash cam video to show that he wasn't. one case could be enough evidence for a lawsuit. I've always believed you get more done at a local level.

Ok so what happens if you just don't stop?

Like is this going to be similar to a weigh station for trucks?

Not saying I wont but yeah lol.

RI is too poor to implement these types of things anyways so I am not worried.

NO PG - I get the impression it's going to be like a DWI stop. They will stop you from driving around the check point.

I'm thinking about doing that very thing. I want to mount a video recorder and use it for everyday commuting. Then bring it in, charge it, download the files and have proof of what happened on my commute.
That way if someone pulls out in front of me or runs a stop sign - it's on video.
I had never considered doing it at a checkpoint. Unfortunately I don't know if that will work. From what I have read - this Bill gives police the right to pull over any motorcycle they wish.

take a look at videodashcam.com , have heard of people using these. under 200 and it has up to an 8 hour dvr, can also get one with a second camera to face backward. Plus night vision for your night driving. Think the dvr will just overwrite the data when it gets full so you can just pull it after an incident. just think of what it would save in an accident where it's a he said she said event, you would have video proof it was the other persons fault.

Think this one is cool for 150 . http://www.videodashcam.com/2-camera-with-15-foot-cord/

Your welcome. I'm a OTR truck driver and i think that one is sold at some truck stops. A lot of drivers are buying it themselves just for assurance, with all the new fmcsa rules and the driver rating system they have in place. And with commercial vehicles when there is a wreck it's always the trucks fault because the other person just sees money in a lawsuit against a trucking company. The first time i heard of them i think it was a news story in a trucker magazine where a car darted in front of a truck onto an exit ramp and slammed on their brakes so the truck rear ended them. Blamed the driver and said they was hurting all over. The driver just pulled his dash cam off the windshield and showed the officer what happened after the other person had given their statement. Got the driver of the car for filing a false report along with reckless driving and was talking about a fraud charge.

I would just mount them high on the windshield, keep the screen closed, and not say anything to the officer about you having one. Unless your in a state where you have to notify the other party if they are being recorded. In most states only one person in the conversation has to know about the recording to be legal.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjwSoa3kNTw]Dallas Deputy Unlawful Arrest Of Stunt Biker To Get Bikers Helmet Cam Video - YouTube[/ame]

There is a lot of background to this story but the cop still clearly went over the line. If I have a camera on my bike I am just going to be quiet and treat it like a routine traffic stop. With all of this publicity - I can't imagine police NOT training their officers to be aware of cameras. These days - you just have to assume that you will be filmed in whatever you do. In fact - there are numerous Youtube videos about people filming their traffic stops, check point stops, etc.
