Hey guys, Ive been working in my spare time on an exhaust and finally finished it. I have about $16 in it. Not a hard job at all. I think it cleans up the rear of the bike.

What does everyone think?

I like it. how loud is it?

Ehh not bad honestly. Significantly louder than my Two Brothers was but not obnoxious. A coworker and I ride fairly often and he says its not bad at all around town. It does get pretty loud when you open it up but even then its not bad.

Thanks guys for the compliments so far.

I've been looking for something exactly like that, to really show off the shape of the swing arm, something like the fz6r box. Is that compatible with the stock center stand? Care to elaborate on what you actually did to make this possible?

Looking good! Rabbitman sent me an exhaust to be modded just like this. I'm waiting on the slip-on to get here and few picture from him before I get started. Really like the look!!! I'll try to make something that can fit with the center stand, but it's along shot!

Hey Harrisch, FZ6R won't fit at all. Not the same spacing and the primary are way too small... and it freaking wait 20 lbs!!!

Matt did it right! Good job...

I like that a lot. Great job. If only aftermarket guys would have a look and make something similar.

Graves does make a full system with this style

Didn't think it would fit I was just thinking more along the lines of style.... So if I'm thinking about this right this is like the graves system posted above but with a shortened can? Is the piping closer to the engine any different?

Marthy, that looks really good. Nice job.

How long is it? I cut my holeshot down to 10" I would like to have it like that.

I cut it at 8" but with the adapter I had to use to fit the muffler to the header, its about 10". If you can connect it straight to the header without an adapter, I think it'll look similar.

I have no idea about the center stand. I havent had the center stand on for quite some time. I'll try and bolt it back on and report back soon.

I took an exhaust off a 400ex atv and decided I would experiment. I drilled the rivets out. Very easy to do. Then pulled the core and packing out. Discard packing, its cheap online. Then I cut the body of the muffler (8" for mine), then cut the core. Reinstall packing and core, then rivet together. Easy peasy. Its not a hard job at all. With a careful eye to keep it neat, and a little patience its really simple. Depending on what muffler you use, you may need an adapter to fit the muffler to the header. Weld the adapter to the muffler and clamp that to the header. I used VHT Engine Enamel in flat black to paint it. Clamp to header and enjoy.

Im no pro but will try to help all I can. Ask anything you want.

Good luck

Matt

Looks great! You should take a small video to share the sound since it is a custom muffler. I would love a shorty for my gen 1, mostly so I could have my cloth bags hanging off the side and not melt onto the thing like the Previous owner did.

Ill have to use my phone to video but Ill try to get out and make a video this weekend. Thanks for all the compliments.

Would def love to hear it, thanks for u offer to help... I have a big mod weekend Coming up with n retrofit plastidip and fender eliminator and new blinkers... This might have to be my next project

I like to plastidip some parts myself. Good luck with the mod weekend. And if you can find a way to do the exhaust, I recommend it. Its a pretty easy job that looks good to me.
