Yeah, still have to go to hutchinson and mankato soon as my logbook catches up with me. I can handle this stuff when i'm loaded heavy. Only have around 6000lbs in the box right now and will be empty in mankato if i don't decide to shut it down. Gets bad when your light and you touch the brakes and your trailer locks up and slides sideways. Seriously debating shutting it down and finishing up tomorrow, won't be home till late saturday night but it's alot better than not getting home at all.

Holy crap. I'm over in MI, near the lake - so we typically get lake effect snow, which sucks. Chains and studs are illegal in MI, and they salt the hell out of the roads so all of the cars rust out so people will buy new ones from the big 3 and stimulate the "local" economy (even though half of their garbage is made in Canada or Mexico).

All that being said (/rant), I hope that snow stays there. We're getting buckets of rain, but being as I rode the bike for 4 days of the 5 last week to work, I hope we're done with snow and I'd rather have rain than the snow.

Good luck!

Yeah, i don't go far west enough to need to carry chains. Luckily this truck had 2 in it when i got it. Second time i've used them, not on the road, both times was in parking lots. We are owned by a furniture manufacturer so we are always light going out and half of these little furniture stores wasn't made for a truck in the first place, then it snows and they clean up the front so customers can get in and your screwed getting to the dock.

Glad everything went okay today Jeremy. Sleep well, I'm sure you're whipped.

When that storm rolled into western OKC at 4:45pm on Tuesday, the temp dropped 20 degrees in about 45 seconds, I kid you not. It was 82, and I was cleaning the pool. Full sun, I'm in shorts and flip-flops. Within 30 seconds the wind goes from the south to the north and we are COLD. I put on a shirt, and within another 5 minutes we are inside. The temp dropped to 27 last night! Supposed to be 82 again on Sunday!

I was surprised to see chains in MN. We have to use them out here for the white death they call Sierra cement over Donner summit unless you have 4wd.
Must by why all my vehicles are awd or 4wd., chains suck big time.

When you get stuck in a parking lot chains are a lot better than a $450 wrecker bill. Even if it's the companies money. A few of our trucks carry a full set during the winter and run to salt lake. I have done a few turns to Portland, but my boss owns another company that pulls refrigerated, so they usually get them to bring back produce.
