Hey guys, I know I'm in the wrong forum, but I figure the two bikes are pretty close, with the exception that the FZ8 looks WAYYY better. haha jk jk.

I'm an elite member over at www.fz8-forum.com. Just wanted to come spread the love and see if there's anything I can learn from you literbike guys.

Welcome to the board. Not sure how it is over on the sister site, but if it's anything like it is here, you'll have a great time! The 8 looks great!

Thankya sir! it's exactly the same. The color scheme, banner location. I'm pretty sure I'll get confused which site I'm on eventually.

The difference is about 20 hp to the rear. The only advice I can give is that just because you can get up to speed faster, doesn't necessarily mean that you can slow down faster (The Fz8 probably being faster than the Fz1). Both bikes use the same braking set up.

Welcome to the sister site. Very nice ride! Where did you get the engine guards?

Someone on the other site started a list of what was interchangeable between the FZ1 and 8... maybe you can bring that here to help out the 1 owners who might want to fit something off the 8?

Ride safe!

Definitely, been practicing my quick braking. And, I don't believe the FZ8 has more peak torque, if i'm not mistaken. Maybe peaks earlier, but definitely not more than a bike with 200cc's of extra displacement?

The engine guard is the OEM yamaha piece! It costs about $160 if I recall, and it's pretty great! I don't know if it actually protects anything, but it sure looks cool. : ) I will definitely ride safe, thanks.

Welcome to the site and a friendly hello from waaaaaaay up north in Canada. :)

I see you're from Milpitas! I have a close friend in Fremont and I visit him one or two times a year. When I'm visiting, we often go to Milpitas for tasty eats :)

Milpitas huh? Me too! Then you must ride Calaveras Road a bunch like me. Hit me up to ride sometime. I ride a little timid, so you may have to wait on me. :teeter:

It truly is a small world after all. If you ever ride down from Canada we can hang out.
