Bought a new 2012 Yamaha!!!! Happy Birthday to me!

Got the training wheels on today and hope to have her first ride video out as soon as weather permits!

Anyone have a source on a battery charger for a 12v 2.6 Ah(20HR)/40 CCA battery? The bike has an odd plug on it with two bladed so a Bettery Tender Jr. will not mount. If the BT JR will safely charge this, then I can use the alligator clamps?

Any smart charger made for 12V systems will work Eric. Just use the alligator clips and your good to go, or just pick up another patch cord.

Thanks Billy. I have the clips, I just need to get another charger. Both are in use keeping the twins ready for spring. ;) I was concerned about the Ah rating and the output of the BT Jr.

As soon as a warmer day comes, I will set the governor and get her out there to get a video of the first run. Going to be a SCARY day!

Oh okay, I got ya now. I think the Jr. is probably rated at 1.5amp which will be fine. Once the battery is topped off the charger will only keep it regulated at the proper voltage. I didn't know the 50 had a 12 volt system in it. Richie's 50 was kickstart only.

I think it is still editing but..... :D This was on my birthday just before loading it on the truck.

That's without any throttle governor Billy and I only hit 2nd gear. ;) We're going to try for her first ride next weekend, weather permitting. I need to get her used to steering and braking before I ever start the engine though. :D

So, the FZ1 has some competition this spring! Best Grandma/Grandpa award. That's a great little bike to learn on, plus it will grow with her as you allow her more throttle. :sinister:

Remember: phones go sideways when taking pictures and video!

:shaking head:

Have to teach my daughter about that video taking with the cell. Galaxy S III and it should have been better. Next video will be with the GoPro though. ;)

New pics

As mentioned, I got the training wheels on and need to make minor adjustments. I will set the governor on the bike for a speed I can walk/jog to keep up with. Once I can teach her braking and steering with a push, I'll allow her to start the engine and use the bike.

As a reference shot, here is Bridgette's bike head to head with Nanny's (Michele's) bike for comparison. I'm hoping to get an on-off road bike to keep up with Bridgette when I can open the throttle some for her.
