Shorty exhaust??

Does anyone know if there is a short exhaust for the fz1 i want to expose the swingarm. Its a shame to hide something so pretty. I know a couple of people have done it but i cant find anything.

I cut my Holeshot down from 14" to 10" I like the look better. I have thought about making a adapter to put it on the end of the header but never did it.

I don't remember where I saw it but a guy bought a little pipe from an auto parts store and it fit perfect on his gen 2 without any cutting. It looked pretty good but I imagine it was insane loud.

That is what I was thinking off it kinda just dumps out. It's not really a exhaust more of a chunk of pipe I thought they might make something but I can find anything.

You mean like this?

they are all over ebay. just search fz1 exhaust and sort cheapest to most expensive. they will be on the first page. usualy around $50

That's yet thing I don't want it to sound like crap. Do theyake any actual mufflers that would expose the arm. I think some guy from china or some place in Asia on here has an fz where you can see the arm and it looks really good.

I wanted to show off the swingarm too so I went with the graves system, they are pricey but it was worth it for me. You get the look of a nice carbon fiber can and still show off the swingarm, its loud but not insanely loud it has a nice tone to it

i think two bros make a shorty, if not ive seen guys cut the tbr down.

If you want to do it right, go to the manufacturers that actually design, build, and test the equipement. MIVV makes a pretty good short muffler/pipe called the Suono but it'll run you about $400 or so. The decision will be, do you just want more noise or something that will add performance?

I don't want to loose performance is all. This winter i will buy pcv and open the airbox and new filter. I like the graves that was suggested I will look up your suggestions as well.

All those are still long. Your options are:

Graves Full System
Leo Vince GP EVO
Danmoto w/o the midpipe (rafartist did it on FZ1OA)

Last option is the cheapest but don't get the CF Danmoto - it burns through the CF after a while.

More importantly, shorter the pipe, the more vibes it transmits and more noise. A tune is in order to make it smooth.

Mine sounds great, at least I think so, and it isn't super loud until you crack open the throttle. It was a full length Akrapovic Titanium pipe for a 04 R1. I carefully removed the rivets, and cut the case, re arranged the packing and reassembled. The input connection on the pipe was a perfect fit for the stock header. Delkevic makes a good shorty as well as MIVV and GTYR. With some creative workmanship they can be made to fit without the midpipe. Good luck with the decision.
