Hello Hello,
I'm looking to get a FZ1 here and have a potential deal worked out to get the following bike for $6k delivered from 100miles away.

2007 FZ1 with 1400miles, Two Brothers exhaust, tinted windshield, rear fender eliminator, integrated LED tail light, frame sliders, front and rear turn signals, gel grips, removable tank bag, and a large Yamaha riding jacket with removable liner. Also has all stock parts.

So what do you guys think? I feel like it's not the best deal out there but being up in northern Wisconsin my options are pretty limited and the delivery is a big plus for me. Can get it as early as Saturday, any thoughts?

Thanks!

The price is bit high for an 07 but the low miles and extras are nice offset to the price. As you stated delivery is important for you and if it's what you want then go for it. If you plan to keep the bike for years then the cost isn't a deal breaker.

Price is definitely a bit high and 100 mile delivery would not cost that much if you hired someone to do it. I do agree that if you plan to keep the bike for a while 6k should not be a deal breaker.
P.S. handlebar is not stock (it's either from FZ6 or FZ6R)

NADA Guide sets the average retail at $5,900.00. Considering the low miles, all the mods AND the stock parts AND delivery? Yes, I'd take that deal without much questioning. Looks very clean!

I hope you get it! Keep us posted.

Thanks for the quick reply's.
Ya I'm done switching bikes every year, planning to keep this for the foreseeable future.
Handlebar is indeed off an FZ6, he said he liked the stance it gave him more and being a taller guy myself I figure I'll give it a whirl but can always switch back (hopefully it's easy enough).
Riding season is just around the corner, can't wait!

Looks like a good deal. Inspect the frame welds for any possible cracks. I think it was more common in the 2006, but I'm sure I've heard others here talk about it with 2007's. That seems more like the price from a dealer, but not that far off. And it's the fastest color :stirpot: :poke:

If those are mods you'd have paid for anyway and with the delivery, I'd say it's good. It only really matters if you're happy with the price. Mine was used from a dealer in Oct. 2010 with 1600 miles for $5750 OTD. It had a Corbin seat and some kind of non-stock handle bars and some non-stock pegs, but I was happy with all of it. If you ever ride in the wet, your back will be upset you don't have the rear fender, if not, it looks great. The stock tires lasted me until about 6600 miles, then the rear was pretty flat spotted. I now have some Michelin PR3's but not many miles on them. Winter hit shortly after I had them put on.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it. It's a great bike. Enjoy. More pics when/if you get it! :wilynily:

I like it has a bunch of extras and seriously nothing has changed from 07 to now. If its as clean as it looks its worth it. Let us know if you pull the trigger,

buy a bus ticket to pick the bike up and ride back

Can't legally ride the bike until it has insurance and registration/plate (unless previous owner is kind enough to leave you his old plate to get the bike home).
I suppose this could vary state to state, but that's what the law states in NJ.

Same here but it's only a short process to insure and register a bike here, 10 minutes max.

If you really like the bike and want to be ready for the start of the riding season then I say go for it. It's not the greatest deal, but if the bike is as clean as it looks in the pics then do it.

As for the tires...those are the Dunlop Sportmax that most riders don't care for. I wouldn't necessarily rush out to replace them, especially if the bike has been stored indoors. Still you may want something better depending on what type of riding you do.

Thanks for all the input.
He's set to come by on Sat at noon so I'll be sure to update you guys after the transaction.

My parents are actually Michelin tire distributors so will be replacing with some Pilot Powers here at the end of the season (unless they really need it sooner). What's the general consensus here on those?

They will stick well, but wont last long. If you're not going to be riding that aggressively (or doing track days) and want longer tire life then maybe a set of Pilot Road 3 will be better. They should really offer all the grip you need for street riding...

+1 (Pilot Road 2s will work as well.. I'm on 2nd set now.. love them!).
Previous owner only got 3k out of Pilot Powers (rear).

Noted!
I do expect to take out for some track time once or twice this summer (already have some experience), but I'm not the most aggressive rider so I imagine knowing my limit will suffice.

:wow: Great tires! I'm a Michelin man on the bike AND the truck. Can they give us group pricing? Hey! Had to ask!!! ;) I am on my first ever Pilot Powers so no comment yet... But I'd love to try the Pilot Road 3 tires when these are burnt.

I'm running Pilot Powers on my bike right now and I love them. These were on the bike when I bought it and they were pretty much cooked,Sooo I went and bought a new set and had them mounted. They stick like glue to the road. I only have about 200 miles on them or so but I really do like them a lot. Oh and btw...how would the parents feel about giving the forum members a discount on tires...I'm sure plenty of us would be more than happy to run Michelin's if they did.
