New Owner

Hi everyone. I recently traded my 07 Honda CBR for a 08 Fz1. First off, I love love it. Don't know why I waited so long to try out a standard bike. I've had 5 bikes, but this is my first Yamaha. I just have a quick question, the bike I bought has 16k miles, After riding a hours or so I seem to hear a little noise in the engine. I'm not sure if this is normal for this bike but I wanted to make sure while I have a 2 year warranty. I'm very family with timing chain noise on my gsxr. It sounds a little like that. Kinda sounds like crickets in a field. Not sure how to describe it really. Just wanted a little info on these bikes because I plan to keeping it a long time. Anything I need to be watching out for? Any help would be appreciated and I look forward to chatting with everyone. Thanks!

Welcome and congrats!

These are noisy bikes and what you may be hearing is the ticking of the lifters which is normal. Keep up a good maintenance schedule and it will last for MANY years!

Welcome, and like Eric said, these Yamahas are not the quietest bikes around. Throw up some pics of the new Gal when you have some time and thanks for joining the board!
