I just picked up a K&N air filter and when I went to install it found that the top ring was 2-3mm larger in diameter than the paper filter that was currently installed. As such it would not sit down into the air box and I couldn't secure the top of the air box because the bolts weren't long enough. I've already ordered a replacement to be sent to me but I was wondering; has anyone else had issues with the K&N filter and fitment?

There have been alot of people with the FZ and other bikes with the ssme problem. I have a bikemaster it fits well . I think it was $40

K&N filters do not fit the fz without modification. I've tried 4 of them and none fit. I ended up modding both mine and the wife's for her 8, the trim ring has to be cut/ sanded down. I did however get a free filter outta the deal.
