A ratio of 3 isn't that bad, most stunters put custom sprockets of +12 teeth and up for the rear or a final drive of 3.5+ on their bikes which in that case yes you would lose significant acceleration. With the 15/45 setup, you lose no top speed and maxes the engine out in 6th gear at 160ish...
It is a big jump no doubt but its not much more aggressive than the 16/47 setup some people run. I always use this site before making a selection on gearing (gearing commander.com) and its not near as bad as what you think as you can see in the pics. I'd still love to see some real world results...
So I finished rebuilding my engine/transmission got her all back together and went ahead a put on a 15t front with a 45t rear and HOLY CHIT!!!!! Its like a whole new bike now the power is absolutely ridiculous with this set up, at any rpm the front lifts abruptly with only throttle and it yanks...
So I've had my 04 fz1 about 8 months now, put 14,000 miles on 23,000 total and I have practically destroyed the transmission. The shift forks are gone in 2nd gear leaving it useless seeing how more than a 1/4 throttle will make it jump out of gear then quickly reengage just like a chain...
Lol yeah this one was rather rushed, I cared more about it sounding like I wanted than looks like the last one I made on my fz6
Looks great but too high pitched
Sent from my pocket rocket that don't know how to spell
oh no there's baffles there's two baffles directing flow to the bottom pipe and each pipe has inserts with fiberglass and SS steel wool. It's definitely loud but not near as loud as straight pipes that I've run on other bikes on the past, plus it doesn't have that high pitch scream like they did...
I finished up my exhaust Friday and I'm loving it. I made my own on my of fz6 but focused more on looks than performance so this time around it was all about performance and sound. My fz6 had that high pitch "tinny" scream to it so my main goal was to have a lot deeper tone so this time I made...
