Winter clean up.... and stuff

Hey gents, looking for some opinions and brand names on jet kits and LED lights and fender eliminator kits.

I have the plastics and tank off for some much needed body work and paint.

I also have a K&N filter and think I want to do the air box mod.

Also the exhaust valve maint. Any tips on that would be helpful.


The smog crap is already gone. Also thinking about removing the coolant lines from the carbs. ? Any reason not too?


Also wanting to do brake maint. Any reason I cannot use DOT3 to flush and replace the fluid in front and rear brakes ?

Coolant Lines

I never owned a Gen 1 but I am guessing the coolant lines to a carb are to prevent icing at high elevation. I have not heard of such a item on the Gen 1 or any other carbed bike, and am thinking they are actually emmisions related, maybe vapour recovery or the like.

The coolant lines are for anti icing. But where I live and ride, non issue. So I'm sure I'll get rid of them.
