Soft bags belt over battery OK ?

Hi guys,
I'm interested in some Givi soft bags but the only way to mount them securely so that they don't push on the turn indicators is to secure one of the straps under the seat, over the battery.
Would You guys consider that to be OK, or a bit risky ? What if it rains, the strap gets wet, and starts dripping on the battery ? Is there any risk of heat there ?

As long as no metal is touching the terminals or in proximity, and if the strap is not putting a lot of pressure on top of the battery I would think you would be ok.

Thanks .. There's nothing touching the terminals, just wanted a second opinion. I'll post some pics if I buy them
