My 09 FZ1 needs a good PC3 to replace my shot one. I understand the 04-06 R1 is the same fitment. Zip code is 90720 LosAlamitos CA.

I would just get a new PCV, the PC3 are getting old now and if you bought one second hand, the chances are it's life will also be short. You can use your PC3 map on the PCV, so no issues there.

I believe Ivan suggests a PCFC, but I don't know if it will fit an Ozzie bike - aren't your connectors upside-down?

OP is from the states, but we get Aussie power commanders that are wired up for our bikes, we just need to order locally to make sure we get the right fit.
I know PC3 maps can be used on a PCV, the PCFC doesn't have all the extra options a PCV has (quick shift add on, ignition module etc) so if you use these you will need a PCV. I assume you could use the PC3 map on a PCFC, but I am not 100% sure. The PCFC is cheaper though.
