Noticed I need a new front

Well I was riding yesterday and the bike felt a bit off, found out I was about 5psi under front and rear this morning. Good news is I filled them back up and the bike felt great this morning. Bad news is I noticed I will be in need of a new front before too much longer. The rear has plenty of life left in it. The bike currently has PilotRoad 2's on it and my question is would it be ok to run a PR4GT up front and keep the PR2 in the rear? Or should I put a PR2 back up front? There is only about a $40 difference between the two.

Thanks in advance!

I've mixed tire brands without any problems. You can run the 4 on the front just fine however I am a big PR2 fan and would save the 40 for gas and throw another 2 on the front.

How many miles are you getting out of the PR2? I bought this bike used if the PO is correct I currently have 6K on this front.

The GT version is designed for heavier bikes like the Fjr 1300, R1200RT etc. I don't think there would be any real benefit from it.
