New FZ1 Gen1 owner

Hi everyone,

I just got back into riding after a pause of about 6 years due to general life stuff. I just bought an '01 FZ1 with 40k miles (!!). I live in Mexico and these were not officially sold here, so I don't have many choices; however, this one looks well cared for despite the high miles. It is also stock, and is the faster blue color, which are nice pluses. These bikes have a solid reliability reputation so I'm hoping she has many miles left. This forum has already been of help the moment I saw the famous oil light (oil level and not pressure, imagine that!). Thanks!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new bike! You don't have to worry about the reliability, these bikes are very well built indeed.

Welcome! I too have the faster Blue model, haha. Mine is a 2003, I bought it with 48k miles and she now has over 70k and running strong. Just oil changes for the most part and one bad gasket that was easy to fix. Best wishes!
