180 is made for a 5.5" rim. 190 is made for the 6" rim that you have...

A 180 on your wheel would be distorted, and handling would suffer.

If you want to go to a different size, the 190/55 is a favorite for the 6" wheel.

to save some $$$, just remove the tire and peek from the inside to see how deep the nail penetrate...

but then again its ur call. personally I would just change the tire and keep this one for my long haul ride as a spare..
