Gen I rider but I've read of people converting to the R1 forks
HERE is some starter info for it might be easier to find a setup for an R1 than it is for OEM Equipment -- again it is a basis and not the end all solution.
FlEbay is one source for trying to find parts you need as well as the classified here and in the classified section of the "other" forum mentioned above for the post on the front suspension.
NEW Yamaha FZ1 Headlight 06-09 * NEW OEM * Head Light:eBay Motors (item 280400709069 end time Sep-29-09 12:38:06 PDT) -- Fz1 headlight for search
06 07 08 yamaha fz1 right rearset USED:eBay Motors (item 390057002855 end time Oct-01-09 10:32:45 PDT) -- Fz1 rearset for search
fz1 cowl yields some misc part including a complete set but nothing individually.....
fz1 fairing for the upper...
It is a start to help you dial in trying to find what you need.

Thank you adam for your help. I would love to put the Fz1 forks back in and keep it stock, but it appears I am going to have to switch to the R1 beings there are no FZ1 forks anywhere.
