Left my ignition on, DOH!!!

Hi There, hate to admit it but i shut my engine off using the kill switch and left my ignition key in the bike with it left switched on. Obviously when I returned to my garage next morning the battery is completly dead. Understand i wil need a new battery (4 years old anyway) but can i confirm there will not be any damage to ignition circuity etc? will never use kill switch again except in emergency

Well you could try charging the battery back up to see if it will still hold a charge. Although you're right at 4 years old this may just have killed it.

There shouldn't be any damage to ignition circuit. I am sure you're not the first that this has happened to.

If the battery is 4 years old it's probably near the end of it's life but if you have been good to it and not done a lot of extended cranking, you might be surprised at how log one can live. Yuasa are very good batteries and they last a long time. Your electrics aren't affected by leaving the power on.
