How can I install a PC III on my 08 FZ 1? Has anybody found step by step instructions ? Maybe i've been searching wrong.

Can't seem to find a step by step guide for newbie fz1 mechanic.

Thanks much :)

You can download the instructions from the Power Commander web site. If you can unplug a connection in a wiring harness you can install a PC3, super easy.

Have not seen a step by step guide, but it's fairly straight forward process. However, having a repair manual would be helpful as you have to remove the gas tank (or at least lift it up) to get at the harness where the PC III will plug in.

Hi guys new here and first post so go easy on me.

I got a PC3 just today and put it in, in just over an hour, I also go a little plug thing that has two wires that loop back into it's self. What is it for? in the instruction and list of what you get there is no mention of it. Would it be for the O2 sensor when you disconnect it? or something that they stick in the box to make you scratch your head? hahaha.
And yet again dose the pc3 work better without the O2 sensor connected with stock map?

Cheers,

The stock map for the PC III is very close to the stock ECU of the bike. Now, you need to tune the bike. The best way is to take it to a specialist to have them place it on a dyno and tune each gear for you. As you change the bike with mods, you may have to have this done yet again, especially if the mod affects either intake or exhaust.

There are many maps out there to download but it is rare to have two bikes with the same mods. Even if you do, there is elevation to consider. A person on the coast such as myself will have very different maps than a guy in Santa Fe or Denver.

Buying the PC III is only the first step. The expensive part is getting the bike tuned by someone worth their salt. :D $$$

Leave the O2 sensor disconnected. Connect that little plug with the looping wires to O2 harness and you're set.

Hey yeah know about the re-mapping bit and the stock settings part, That's why i bought it. cheers anyway.

Ripped the tank up and found the end of the O2 sensor and that little bung fitted perfectly in the plug. AWESOME!

I know the guy here that owns the dynojet work shop and we had a dyno day on the weekend. $20 bucks got a run with printout of the effort.
My Black beast put out 132hp, 4th gear wind on & 136 from 1st to 6th at 270 kph (167.7mph)I thought it was pretty good. That was without the PC3. Just K&N air and Yoshi TRC slip-on. This is the place and with my old baby that I completely wrote off. 2001 ZX6R On The Dyno - Video
Cheers.
