The next winter project is already underway. It will be an expensive winter at this rate, hopefully a short one !!!
This time I am replacing the rear stock signals with Watsen Design flushmounts (Black). I will be useing the mounting brackets that are provided on the Givi Monokey racks for my V-35 bags. I have lights in the bags(Admore lighting) but wanted signals for when I ride without the bags (rarely). I though about just going with an LED combo tailight like Clear Alternatives unit. The problem is that in order to stay legal in the two most common jurisdictions that I ride in they had to be a minimum distance apart and visible from back and side. The solution that I came up with was after a few ideas were thrown out. I did not want to cut or drill any bodywork and it had to be virtually unnoticable when done. This way the unit and attachment will all be neat and unabtrusive. A bonus, my Yamaha factory FZ 1 cover will fit again. The cover is too form fitting to pull over the stock rear signals on the Givi extensions.
I made a quick sketch of what I wanted and sent it off to Roger at Watsen Design. He told me that it was no problem and made a suggestion about the custom unit. Now we wait.
