Fuel / exhsust

Was reading an article about how just adding a slip on won't affect mpg , although I notice a fairly big improvement in fuel consumption when using the stock can , I can also notice a drop in mid range torque over my slip on , so guessing it's all back pressure related .
any thing to add gents ?

I haven't noticed too much of a drop in mid-range power with the 3 different slip-ons I've had on the bike over the years.
This could be due to me getting custom PCV maps made for all of them.
If you change bits without getting them tuned for the bike then I could see why your mileage might change.
