First Chain Use

Any recommendations for what to do before riding with a new chain? Should I clean the shipping grease off before going for that first ride? Go out for a quick ride, then clean and lube it like I normally would (I use spray-on chain wax)? Other suggestions?

I just usually ride it with the shipping wax on. Clean it and re-lube when you have to make the first adjustment
