Cam Chain Tensioner

The Fz1 has a non-ajustable CCT.
If you pulled it out then you need to push the plunger in and flip the piece that holds it in place till its in the hole.

Yeah, unfortunatly I did! I was trying to find a gas leak on the bottom of the carbs. I started to removed it chicked out, tightened it, then when I restarted the bike realized it was to tight by the sound!

Hmmmm

The tensioner has a mark on the body to indicate which side is up. Remove the bolt from end of unit,Inside after the screw is removed is a standard screwdriver head.Use small screwdriver to turn , tensioner wil retract. Once fully retracted, while hoding screw driver, place unit back on in correct orientaion. Bolt down with two bolts(mae sure gasket is there) now release screw driver. Replace bolt covering screwdriver access.
Done!

Gen 11

Is this method , by chance, the same for gen 11?
Where is this CCT located by the way?
Yamaha tech says mine needs replacing at 40k miles.
