I moved to VA from Los Angeles two years ago, and in that time have given two sets of my go-to BT 023's a chance to live up to my expectations here....
I'm finding that they don't really like the east coat blacktop. The concrete on Cali's roads is "smooth" compared to the asphalt here is VA, and these tires have halved their longevity.
I've gotten aprox. 5000 miles out of my current set where I would get 8-11000 on the west coast. Long story short- I've decided to try a new tire after nearly 60,000 on BT 023's.
I have a 96 miles RT commute. Primarily two lane roads, 60-80mph average, regular elevation changes, and about 50/ 50 straight to high-speed corners.
I've heard nothing but great things about the Pilot Road 3's. I've previously avoided this Michelin series because of their V-shape carcass causing front end instability under acceleration and heavy braking for the FZ1, but I see from reviewing the new data on the PR-3's that they have moved to dual compound U-shaped carcass......
Thoughts? Opinions on these tires? Opinions on other options?
