2004 FZ1S speedo

How does the 2004 FZ1S read speed for the speedometer? is there an induction line from one of the wheels to the speedometer or is it some how measured inside the engine?

I believe both generations of FZ1 read from inside the transmission. The sensor should be near the front sprocket cover

Thank you so much Dustin! So does the speedometer line (or wire) come up by the rest of the instrument cluster?

It's an electronic speedometer and I believe the sensor runs up to the harness at some point under the seat.
