2002 Fz1 Cutting out at 115mph

Not sure which generation a 2002 is considered its pretty new bike to me compared to my old superhawk. Today while riding i wanted to see what she could do and when i hit 115 it cut out. Is there a governor for speed or what could be wrong on my bike?
 
That's very strange! I can tell you that it definitely doesn't have a governor -- I saw 170 mph on my '02 once and it showed no signs of wanting to stop at that point. I sure did, though.

Can you describe what happened a little more? Do you remember the rpm when it happened? What gear were you in? Any modifications to the bike?
 
I'm with Dustin. In order to diagnose any issue we'd need to know a little bit about the bike. Whether or not it's in stock form, and if it isn't, what modifications were done to it. Also, does it ride normally when not at high speeds? Carbs rejetted? Let us know. Oh, and just a side note, bikes 01' to 05' are first generation bikes, and 06' to present are second generation.
